The Grand Stade Hassan II is being built outside the city, between Casablanca and Rabat. Plan the ride there and back well before kick-off.

  1. 1

Plan the ride out of town. The stadium is far from the centre and roads will be busy. [Add official shuttle and train info when announced]

  2. 2

Ride the tram and the train. Tram lines cross the city, and Casa-Port and Casa-Voyageurs stations link it to the rest of Morocco.

  3. 3

Red taxis use the meter. Casablanca's red petit taxis take up to three people and should run the meter; check before you set off.

Local tips

Book the mosque tour at Hassan II for a set time, and cover shoulders and knees.

Traffic is heavy at rush hour. The tram is often faster than a taxi across the centre.

Swim where it's supervised: the Atlantic has strong currents, so stick to beaches with lifeguards and flags.
